Great Stroller Accessories for Travel

Stroller Home   Single Strollers   Double Strollers   Stroller Frames

Here are some easy-traveling accessories for your stroller to help make the most of your trip, including weather and insect protection, stroller travel bags, and more.

RayShade

Why Shelly recommends it:

Most travel strollers have small canopies that offer little sun protection. The Ray Shade slips over that slim canopy and extends well over your child whenever extra sun protection is desired, and retracts back out of the way or rolls into its own storage pouch when not needed. Includes pockets on the back to hold a cup and other essentials. The RayShade can be used with virtually all single strollers, jogging strollers, and bassinet/buggies with canopies. A double RayShade is also available for side-by-side twin strollers.

J.L. Childress Cups 'N Cargo Stroller Organizer

Why Shelly recommends it:

Most lightweight travel strollers come with few bells and whistles, and even fewer storage pockets. This stroller organizer adds some very useful features and functionality you'll especially appreciate on the go. Clip on the adjustable stroller organizer and gain two expandable cup or bottle holders; three zippered pockets and one flat pocket for diapers, binkies, and such; plus an expandable mesh pocket that can handle those odd-size toys as well as wet or sticky clothing as you travel.

J.L. Childress Padded Single Stroller Travel Bag

Why Shelly recommends it:

Great value and good padding to protect your stroller for gate-checking or checking through the entire baggage system. The top-loading feature also helps you pack up quickly at the gate without wrestling your stroller and bag on the floor among the boarding passengers. This versatile bag fits most single lightweight travel strollers with an umbrella-style fold, including Peg Perego, Maclaren lightweights (not the Techno XT), Combi, Graco, Jeep, Maxi Cosi, Inglesina, and others. Padded handles and an adjustable shoulder strap, with luggage ID pocket. Measures 41" x 15" x 10".

J.L. Childress Double and Jogger Stroller Travel Bag

Why Shelly recommends it:

It simplifies traveling with double strollers like those from Phil & Ted, Peg Perego, and Joovy, while also accommodating some bulkier singles like Bugaboo and Bob single joggers. As you'd expect, it also fits most twin travel strollers as well, including Chicco Twins, Combi Twins, and Maclaren Twins. You and the guys gate-checking this bag will appreciate the padded handles and adjustable shoulder carrying strap, which can be removed for times when you check it through the baggage system (just tuck it inside and it will be ready to clip back on arrival). Includes luggage ID pocket and small zip outer pocket. Measures approximately 42" x 21" x 13".

Wheel-Easy Jumbo Stroller Travel Bag

Why Shelly recommends it:

It offers rugged protection against the baggage system and fits virtually all strollers (even many doubles, including the Sit 'N Stand Elite--but double-check your stroller's folded dimensions to avoid disappointment). You may even have extra room to store other things inside, like blankets, jackets, a travel bed, and--well, I'm sure you'll think of more things as you pack! Tough 600 denier nylon with a coated lining, roller blade wheels. Top panel opens wide for easy loading and unloading.  23" x 13.5" x 38" of storage, with wheels extending slightly beyond.

Stroller Handle Extender

Why Shelly recommends it:

Got a "hunch" your travel stroller makes up in travel-friendliness what it lacks in height? Tall parents will especially appreciate the extra 8" in height this handle extender can lend their compact travel strollers. Simple attachment with Velcro straps works with most handlebar-style strollers.

Single Stroller Sun Cover / Protector

Why Shelly recommends it:

Adds excellent UV protection from all sides and angles to virtually all single strollers, including popular travel strollers (brands include Combi, Graco, Evenflo, Peg Perego, Bertini, Silver Cross, Simo, Chicco, Kolcraft, Britax, Fisher Price, Kidco, and others). While this sun protector will also help shield against some flying insects, and certainly sand or other debris on the breeze, you may want to use something with a more snug fit around the bottom when mosquito protection is desired (see next).

Single Stroller Mosquito Net

Why Shelly recommends it:

Mosquitoes and other insects can be terribly persistent, not to mention many biting insects linger near the ground. With an elastic hem around its entire edge, this mosquito net provides a snug fit around all sides of most single strollers (tuck it up under the leg rest or feet for best fit). You may also use this mosquito net with most bassinets.

Tandem Stroller Sun Cover / Protector

Why Shelly recommends it:

Adds excellent UV protection to most tandem (front and back) strollers, while still allowing you to easily see your children in their seats. While this will also help shield against some flying insects, and certainly sand or other debris on the breeze, you may desire something with a more snug fit around the bottom if mosquitoes are a serious concern where you'll be strolling (especially since they tend to hover near the ground).

Sasha's Twin Stroller Sun Cover

Why Shelly recommends it:

Like the tandem version, this sun protector adds excellent UV protection--to the tippy toes in fact--to most twin (side by side) strollers, while still allowing you to easily see your children in their seats. What is also nice about this cover is that you can easily detach a couple of Velcro loops to access one of your children, without removing the entire cover. If mosquitoes are a serious concern, however, you may want a shield with a more snug fit around the bottom and back.

Combi Stroller Weather / Rain Cover

Why Shelly recommends it: :

This "Medium" cover from Combi fits securely over your Combi stroller and car seat when used as a travel system. When your baby outgrows the infant car seat, just zip the expansion panel closed and it's a great fit for your stroller alone. Made of clear vinyl and ventilated mesh. Combi also offers the size "Small" cover to fit over their travel strollers (which you may see when you click through the links below), but you may prefer the extra wiggle room of the Medium rain cover, which works with the  following travel system combinations: Combi Flash + Infant seat, Soho DX + Connection, Ultra Savvy + Infant seat, DKL5 Travel System, City Savvy + Connection, Savvy EX + Connection.
